Newborns
Lucy
Did you know that newborns are only considered "newborns" for the first 2 weeks! And believe me...those 2 weeks go by in such a sleepy, adorable, way-to-fast blur! Their faces change, their bodies grow and POOF!...before you know it you're planning for their 1st birthday. Cherish and protect the memories of your beautiful new baby with an in-home newborn photo shoot. Did I say IN-HOME!? Yes, I will come to you so you don't have to worry about packing up and going out during a time that you should be recovering and resting as much as possible. I'll bring everything I need to capture gorgeous newborn photos like the ones below, while you relax in the comfort of your own home. Contact me for more information or book your newborn photo session now.

You might ask...but what exactly do you bring to an in-home newborn session??? Good question! Well, as I said before...I'll bring everything I need to create beautiful images of your newest addition including; a platform to place baby on, blankets, wraps, layers, outfits, headbands and/or bonnets, bucket and/or box props, the camera (of course), a reflector to harness/direct the natural light where I need it, a shusher to hep soothe the baby, a small portable heater to add a little extra warmth when needed, posing blankets. That may be it. Yes...it's going to look like I'm moving in, but don't worry, I won't stay forever:) And because I bring everything I need, all you need to provide is your cute baby and a space to work. Maybe you'll even get some much needed sleep...who knows;) Contact me for more information or book your newborn photo session now.

You have probably caught on already that, even though I'm a huge fan of color in my typical portraits, for my newborns I prefer to keep the focus on the baby by using textures, soft colors, neutrals, and simple set-ups. Booking 1- 3 months before your expected due date helps me to ensure that I have enough time to plan and purchase any items that I might need to make sure your newborn session perfectly compliments and coordinates with your nursery or home's decor. You might be curious...how many poses will you do with my baby? Well...that depends a little on your baby. You see...not all babies can do all poses, and I never ever push a baby to do a pose that is clearly uncomfortable for them. That's one of the reasons why it's so important to schedule your session within the 1st two weeks after their birth. Within those 1st two weeks babies are still used to being curled up, like in the womb, and they're still nice and sleepy so they'll be able to relax into position more easily. I just love this little guys half cheeky smile! It makes me think he's dreaming of something lovely. Truth is...his little guy made me work for my shots, but I won in the end...I always do:) Did you know there are 101 ways to wrap a baby...well maybe that's an exaggeration, but there are quite a few, and knowing how to wrap and handle a not-so-sleepy baby can make all the difference in a newborn session. I am familiar with, not only the best safety practices for handling newborns, but also how to swaddle them to settle and get those oh-so-adorable shots, like the ones below.
