Photos of my beautiful family are my most valuable possession, and I am lucky enough that I get to capture treasured family memories for clients as well. My goal for families is to capture moments in a natural, fun, and classic way so you can create heirloom prints, art or albums for your family to enjoy for years to come.
I am inspired by golden hour light, texture, color, and classic/rustic/vintage features. Sacramento has so many beautiful locations in the surrounding areas, from golden fields with majestic oaks, to rustic barns, lake views, flower gardens, historic buildings, and more. I will help you choose the perfect location and time for your next family photo session.
There are many aspects that go into a successful photoshoot. One of those aspects is outfits. I believe outfits can play an important part in the overall look of the images. When you choose outfits you love and feel good in, you will love the images even more. It allows you to be in the moment with your loved ones instead of worrying about how uncomfortable the outfits are, or how you might portray yourself in them. My online styling tool is an interactive & shoppable styling resource that shows you hundreds of photo worthy tops, bottoms, dresses, and accessories pulled in from well known retailers to give clients, like you, an easier way to figure out what the wear.
As a whole family photographer I offer cozy newborn, creative child, and fun family photography for any stage in life. I want to help capture the moments you treasure in life and create artwork you will cherish for years.
Located in Roseville, California, I offer child and family photography for clients in the greater Sacramento area including, Auburn, Loomis, Newcastle, Lincoln, Marysville, Yuba City, Roseville, Rocklin, Granite Bay, Folsom, Orangevale, Fair Oaks, El Dorado Hills, Sacramento, Elk Grove, Lodi, Winters, Woodland, Davis, and beyond.

Who is this for?
Family sessions are totally my jam. I LOVE them! I love seeing and capturing sweet interactions as well as the classic posed shots.
Family sessions are for families big or small and will include all the various groupings...For example, (but not limited to): All together, mom with children, dad with children, just the children, as well as individuals of the children and couples.
Family session pricing includes up to 6 people...additional family members may be added for ($20 each).
What do we need?
Planning ahead with some awesome styling is going to be a key factor in getting those wall worthy shots...that's why I have teamed up with Style and Select to give you an easy way to coordinate and shop for photo worthy attire.

What else? well..snacks and treats for the kids is always a good idea. Feel free to bring some for husbands too...LOL, whatever works;)
Lastly, a reminder to dress appropriately for the weather...nobody does their best when too hot or too cold so, if sweaters are need, please plan to bring those along...oh and it's best if they also coordinate with your outfits. I shoot fast and often throughout the session so taking jackets on and off can be cumbersome.
Where
I have a variety of locations that I like to use, all over the greater Sacramento area. I will discuss with you your vision for the session and offer a few location suggestions that I think might fit the bill. I do try to suggest locations that are relatively convenient and close to your home, but am also up for travel if you have something special in mind.

Why
My goal for your session is to create photos that you will be proud to display in your home
so
any time of year, or any reason is good enough for me:)
But milestone events are always a good reason for family photos. Some occasions might include:
welcoming a new baby
engagement
marriage
graduations
holidays
starting school
new house
or just to be able to take photos with natural events like spring wildflowers, fall color changes, snowy winters, or fun filled summers
When
I hold family session all year long, and they typically take place during what is called the "Golden Hour", which is the hour so before sunset. Simple reason...that is when the light is softest and most flattering.
I occasionally get asked to hold sessions at other times of the day to accommodate little ones or other reasons...and although I try to accommodate some requests, the lighting really is not as ideal at other times of the day and therefore makes it harder for me to create images that match the body of my work. I know how much goes into getting you and your family ready for, and on board with a family photo session, and getting the lighting right is such a crucial part of fantastic photos...that it is my strongest recommendation that we stick with what works and have an amazing golden hour session!!
Booking 6-8 weeks is advance is recommended, but I will do my best to accommodate where time permits

Additional photos from your gallery may be purchased separately.
Most of the time, I ask my families to engage with the environment and each other...hugging, kissing, twirling, picking flowers, playing in the water...but I also typically bring along a blanket or two, as well as a bucket, chair, or stool, just in case:)
Clients are welcome to bring items that are meaningful to them, or that may help their family feel most comfortable.
